PAC is celebrating 9 years of hosting trials in the Portland/Vancouver area. The club was formed in 1999 to promote AKC agility and was recognized as an official AKC club in 2000. We hosted our first trial in July 2001 and are now putting on 8 yearly. For our next trial—look under PAC Events.
PAC also hosts 1 to 2 seminars a year for all levels of ability, from puppy to master level. Check to see who’s
coming this year under the seminar tab under PAC Events.
Portland Agility Club donates a portion of each trial’s proceeds to a charity. Over the years, the club has purchased
equipment for fire departments to resuscitate pets, vests for police dogs, donated to various breed rescue groups, animal shelters and
hospitals, as well as organizations such as Animal Aid.
PAC members and exhibitors responded to the outcry for help in a big way. On 10-5-05 the 547 lbs. of Crates (large to small), Leashes,
Collars, bowls, toys and vet supplies, gathered at our September trial, were delivered to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana.
Lamar Dixon has been a collection point for all found animals. It is being supported by a number of organizations including AKC and The LSU
School of Veterinarian Medicine. (PAC recently donated $500 to each of those organizations).
Thanks to all those who donated, with special thanks to Char Wenger and Dr. Barry Powell for extra large donations of the above items.
